This series is an abstract interpretation of the experience of holding your breath underwater, opening your eyes, and watching your hair float around you. This is the first time these works have been shown since I started them in the Spring of 2014. I wanted to expand on my initial experimentation with moving ink with sputum across paper using air compressors, blowing air through straws, or with an air pump. How I play with the opacity of the ink is much like the thickness of my hair while I brush it underwater, ending in soft curls and moving in all directions. I wanted to see what additional forms I could create by manipulating the ink to move in intended and unintended ways.
